London Biggin Hill Airport inspires local youth during Aim High scholarship week

London – 24 October: London Biggin Hill Airport and aviation charity fly2help welcomed 11 young people to its annual Aim High Scholarship programme this week.

The week-long educational programme is designed to inspire young people into studying STEM subjects, and to pursue careers in the aviation industry, by providing them with hands-on experience of different jobs at the airport.

Aged between 15 and 18 and all from local schools and youth organizations, the individuals participating in this week’s scholarship programme were handpicked following a comprehensive application and interview process.

Andy Patsalides, marketing manager, London Biggin Hill Airport says: “London Biggin Hill is today the fastest-growing business aviation airport in Europe. Over the last 12 months we’ve increased employment at the airport from 1,000 to 1,300 roles, and this is another fantastic opportunity for our local youth to see and experience the wide range of rewarding careers available in aviation, right on their doorstep. It comes as the airport prepares to launch the new London Aerospace & Technology College in 2019.”
