Steven signs off at Biggin Hill Airport at Christmas to prepare for his new career in the Royal Air Force

Steven Inch left his post before Christmas to join the Royal Air Force as a pilot as after two and a half years as Flight Operations Officer at Biggin Hill Airport.   His home is in Biggin Hill.

During the summer of 2015, the 24-year old qualified for his Private Pilots Licence, sponsored by the Nick Davidson Memorial Flying Scholarship scheme which proved to be the catalyst for his planned career in the RAF.

Later this month, Steven reports to the RAF College at Cranwell in Lincolnshire, joining course number 44 for his 32 weeks basic training.   When qualified, Steven hopes to be flying in a Typhoon squadron.

“Working as a member of the Flight Operations team at Biggin Hill has been an outstanding experience.  It was the Nick Davidson Memorial Scholarship scheme that lifted and inspired my ambition towards becoming a professional pilot in the RAF and I shall always be grateful for that opportunity” says Steven.
