Statement to press from London Biggin Hill Airport following the LBB Council meeting held on 5th January 2016

“We are pleased that our proposal has been approved.  It has quite rightly been subject to extensive scrutiny and consultation from Councillors and local residents.

“These changes are not about increasing the number of flights to and from the airport or opening up the Airport to scheduled airlines – indeed, this is precluded.  They are about making Biggin Hill a more attractive place for businesses with aviation interests to locate.  With these changes, we can attract more investment, creating more jobs for local people and generating the monies that are needed to implement the comprehensive noise action plan that has been agreed with the Council.

“Biggin Hill’s aviation heritage stretches back 100 years.  These changes will help sustain its future as a successful, small airport focused on business aviation and operating under strict noise guidelines.”
